The Twilight Saga: Eclipse director David Slade says that the film was in “phase 1″ of “director’s cut” screenings with the film studio, Summit Entertainment.

The screening would probably not be of the final cut, and edits would likely be required by the studio for one purpose or another.

David Slade confirmed edits saying ”Cutting like crazy, the film is getting closer working through the weekends again, adding more EDWARD!”

Adding more Edward (portrayed by Robert Pattinson)? Probably a good idea. While The Twilight Saga: New Moon was expected to have less of “Edward Cullen” in the picture and more of the werewolves (namely, “Jacob Black” by Taylor Lautner), but Eclipse is a different story.

In December, Slade promised fans that “Edward seems to be a really strong presence, the intensity of the love story & rivalry between Jacob is in the driving seat,” but he also stated that there was a “great state of balance” and that “it’s all even with the action sequences.”
